Pavement Ant

Found under stones, pavement, and in cracks of walkways; frequently enters buildings in search of food.

Omnivorous; feeds on grease, seeds, honey, bread, meats, and other insects.

They are social insects that form large colonies and are known for fighting neighboring colonies on sidewalks.

Primarily a nuisance pest indoors; externally, they help aerate soil and decompose organic matter.
