Bed Bug

Found globally in human dwellings, typically in cracks and crevices near sleeping areas, including mattresses, bed frames, and furniture.

Obligate hematophagous, meaning they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

Nocturnal and elusive. They are attracted to body heat and carbon dioxide. After feeding, it is common for them to leave blood stains or fecal spotting on linens when crushed inadvertently.

While not known to transmit diseases, they cause psychological distress and skin reactions/welts from bites. They provide no ecosystem benefits in human environments and are considered significant pests.
