Field Cricket

Fields, pastures, lawns, and gardens; often seek shelter indoors during cold weather or drought.

Omnivorous; feeds on organic matter, seeds, plants, and sometimes other insects.

Primarily nocturnal; males produce a characteristic chirping sound by rubbing their wings together to attract females.

Generally harmless to humans but can be a nuisance indoors; beneficial to the ecosystem by breaking down organic matter and serving as a food source for birds and mammals.
