Bed Bug

Dwellings where humans sleep, such as bedrooms, beds, sofas, and other upholstered furniture.

Strictly hematophagous, meaning they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

Mainly nocturnal and elusive, hiding in cracks and crevices during the day and emerging at night to feed. They are attracted to body heat and carbon dioxide.

While not known to transmit diseases, their bites can cause allergic reactions, secondary skin infections, and significant psychological distress; they have no known benefits to humans or most ecosystems.
