Clover Mite

Grassy areas, clover lawns, and building perimeters; often enter homes in spring and fall.

Herbivorous; feeds on the juices of grasses, clover, and a variety of other plants and weeds.

Active during cooler months; parthenogenic reproduction (females only). They leave a distinct red stain when crushed due to body pigments.

Harmless to humans and pets; they do not bite or transmit disease. Considered a nuisance pest due to staining of fabrics and surfaces when crushed.
