Probably a clover mite

Lawns, gardens, soil, leaf litter, and sun-warmed building surfaces; often enters homes around windows.

Pierces plants and sucks sap, especially from grasses, clover, and other ground-cover plants; it does not feed on people or blood.

Moves slowly and may appear in large numbers during cool spring or autumn conditions. When crushed, it can leave a reddish-orange stain.

Not considered dangerous to humans, pets, or structures, though heavy infestations may stress turf and ornamental plants. It is part of the soil and plant-food web.
