Behavior Patterns
Active mostly at night or in low light, it patrols foliage and may carry debris or prey remains on its back for camouflage. It undergoes complete metamorphosis: egg, larva, pupa, and winged adult.
Risks & Benefits
Harmless to people and plants, and highly beneficial as a natural biological-control agent. Bites are exceptionally unlikely; adults generally feed on nectar, pollen, or honeydew.
