Starchy materials, mold, mildew, fungi, and insect remains.

Nocturnal and highly sensitive to humidity; they do not fly but move quickly in short bursts.

Harmless to humans as they do not bite or transmit disease, but are considered pests for damaging stored dry goods and paper.
