Larvae carry a 'trash packet' on their backs composed of dead prey, plant matter, and debris to camouflage themselves from predators and lunch-stealing ants.
Risks & Benefits
Highly beneficial as biological pest control; occasionally will provide a harmless but sharp defensive pinch to human skin if handled.
