Household Casebearer

Found indoors on walls, ceilings, and floors, particularly in humid environments, sheltered areas, and closets.

Feeds on spider webs, pet hair, dust, woolens, silk, and other keratin-containing debris.

The larva constructs a flattened, portable silk case decorated with dust and debris, dragging it along surfaces as it moves. It pupates inside the case and eventually emerges as a weak-flying moth.

Risks include minor damage to fabrics, carpets, and stored textiles if infestations are heavy. They pose no biting threat or health hazard to humans and help consume household dust and organic debris.
