Spider beetle (probable)

Often found indoors in dark, undisturbed areas such as cupboards, attics, stored textiles, and beneath furniture.

Larvae feed on dried organic materials, including grain products, pet food, dead insects, wool, feathers, and other debris; adults often feed little.

Adults are slow-moving and nocturnal, sometimes feigning death when disturbed. Larvae develop concealed in stored materials and can persist unnoticed for months.

Generally harmless to people and pets and do not bite. Some species can damage stored food, natural-fiber fabrics, taxidermy, or other dry organic materials.
