Webbing clothes moth

Indoor environments, particularly in dark, undisturbed areas such as closets, attics, and storage rooms where woolen garments, furs, and carpets are kept.

Adult moths do not eat and lack functional mouthparts; larvae feed on animal-derived fibers containing keratin, such as wool, silk, feathers, fur, and leather.

Adults are weak fliers and prefer to run rather than fly, often hiding in dark corners. Females lay eggs in clusters on suitable fabric substrates. Larvae spin protective silken tubes or cases in which they live and feed.

Risks include significant economic and aesthetic damage to clothing, carpets, and upholstery made of natural animal fibers. They provide no notable domestic benefits.
