Behavior Patterns
Adults are active fliers and are attracted to light; they do not feed as adults. The larvae do most of the damage by tunneling through food sources.
Risks & Benefits
Major pest of stored food products and can damage collections like books or leather; however, they pose no direct physical health risk to humans beyond food contamination.
