Long-jawed Orb Weaver (or similar Tetragnathid spider)

Typically found near water, such as streams, ponds, marshes, and in tall grass or foliage.

Carnivorous, primarily feeding on flying insects like mosquitoes, midges, and small flies trapped in their webs.

They build horizontal or slightly inclined orb webs, often resting along a blade of grass or twig with their long legs stretched out in a straight line to camouflage themselves.

Beneficial to the ecosystem as natural pest controllers by managing populations of flying insects. They pose virtually no risk to humans as their fangs are rarely able to puncture human skin and their venom is not medically significant.
