Bed Bug

Found in human habitations, primarily in cracks and crevices of mattresses, bed frames, furniture, and baseboards.

Obligate hematophage, feeding exclusively on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded animals.

Nocturnal and elusive, hiding during the day and emerging at night to feed. They go through incomplete metamorphosis.

Bites cause itchy, red welts and potential secondary infections from scratching. They are a significant nuisance pest causing psychological distress, but they are not known to transmit vector-borne diseases to humans.
