Behavior Patterns

Adults can fly and are attracted to light. Females chew a hole into a grain kernel, lay a single egg, and seal it with secretions; the larvae then develop entirely inside the grain.

Harmless to humans and pets as they do not bite or sting, but they are major agricultural and household pests that destroy stored food products.
