Noble False Widow Spider

Urban and suburban areas, often found in and around human habitations, on walls, fences, bark of trees, and in dark corners or crevices like the one pictured.

Carnivorous. Feeds on a wide variety of insects, woodlice, and other small invertebrates trapped in its sticky, irregular web.

Constructs tangled, messy webs in sheltered locations. They are nocturnal hunters and generally non-aggressive, retreating when disturbed, though they can bite if trapped against human skin.

Benefits include natural pest control by reducing populations of insects around homes. Risks include a painful bite that may cause localized swelling, redness, and discomfort, though it is not medically significant like that of the true widow spiders.
