Darkling beetle (likely a stink beetle)

Darkling beetles occupy soil, leaf litter, deserts, caves, gardens, and buildings, depending on species. This broad-bodied form is consistent with a ground-dwelling species.

Adults generally eat decaying plant matter, seeds, fungi, and occasionally fresh vegetation. Larvae feed on decomposing organic material or roots.
