Cellar Spider (specifically Long-bodied Cellar Spider)

Commonly found inside homes, dark corners, cellars, garages, and beneath structures, as well as in caves and sheltered outdoor locations.

Carnivorous. They prey on other insects, small arthropods, and even other spiders (including venomous species like widow spiders).

They build irregular, tangled, non-sticky webs in corners and undisturbed areas. When disturbed, they typically vibrate rapidly in their web to blur their appearance and evade predators.

Benefits include acting as a natural pest control by eating other household insects and spiders. They are generally considered harmless to humans, possessing very small fangs that rarely pierce human skin, and their venom is not medically significant.
