Bed bug

Indoor environments, specifically cracks and crevices in mattresses, box springs, headboards, and furniture close to sleeping areas.

Hematophagous (feeds exclusively on blood, primarily from humans and other warm-blooded animals).

Nocturnal and highly elusive; hides in dark crevices during the day and emerges at night to feed. They go through incomplete metamorphosis from egg to nymph to adult.

Risks include painful, itchy bites, secondary skin infections from scratching, and significant psychological stress or anxiety due to infestations. They offer no known benefits to human homes.
