Ghost Ant

Found indoors in warm environments, behind baseboards, in potted plants, and outdoors under debris or soil in tropical and subtropical regions.

Feeds on honeydew produced by aphids and scale insects, dead insects, sweets, and greasy foods.

Form highly mobile colonies with multiple queens (polygynous) and split frequently into new sub-colonies. They run rapidly and erratically when disturbed.

Pest in homes and indoor spaces due to foraging on food sources; they do not sting or cause structural damage, but can contaminate food items.
