Cellar Spider (Daddy Long-legs Spider)

Dark, quiet, humid places such as cellars, basements, caves, garages, and corners of ceilings in homes.

Carnivorous; feeds on insects, small invertebrates, and other spiders, including venomous species like redbacks and house spiders.

Builds loose, irregular webs in corners; when disturbed, it rapidly vibrates or bounces in its web to blur its silhouette and deter predators.

Harmless to humans as their fangs are rarely capable of penetrating human skin and their venom is exceptionally mild. Highly beneficial as natural pest control for household insects and unwanted spiders.
