Household Casebearer

Indoor environments, particularly in warm, humid regions, found on walls, ceilings, under furniture, and in closets.

Feeds on spider webs, hair, feathers, wool, dead insects, and occasionally synthetic fibers.

The larva constructs a portable, flattened, silk case resembling a melon seed, dragging it along surfaces as it moves. It pupates inside the case and eventually emerges as a small moth.

Risks include minor damage to natural fiber fabrics, carpets, and stored woolens. They pose no health threat to humans and act as occasional scavengers of household debris.
