Crab Spider (Goldenrod Crab Spider / Flower Crab Spider)

Gardens, meadows, fields, and sunny outdoor areas on flowers, leaves, and plant stems

Carnivorous; feeds on insects such as flies, bees, butterflies, moths, and aphids

Ambush predator that does not build webs to catch prey. It holds onto flower heads or stems and uses its long front legs to grab visiting insects. Females can slowly change color between white and yellow to match flowers.

Harmless and non-aggressive to humans; serves as beneficial natural pest control in gardens by feeding on various plant-damaging insects.
