Flea (likely cat flea)

Homes, carpets, pet bedding, upholstery, and outdoor areas frequented by cats, dogs, or wildlife.

Adults drink blood from mammals and occasionally birds. Larvae feed mainly on dried blood and organic debris in the environment.

Wingless, laterally flattened, and exceptionally strong jumpers; adults hide in fur and can rapidly infest indoor spaces. Eggs and larvae develop off-host, especially in warm, sheltered areas.

Bites cause itchy papules and may trigger flea-allergy dermatitis; fleas can transmit pathogens and tapeworms. They provide limited food for predators but are primarily household and veterinary pests.
