Minute brown scavenger beetle (probable)

Moist, moldy organic material, leaf litter, compost, stored foods, and damp indoor areas. Often occurs where fungi grow.

Feeds mainly on fungal spores, molds, and decaying organic matter rather than biting animals or plants.

Adults are tiny, slow-moving scavengers that may wander onto walls, fabrics, or windows from damp areas. Populations increase in humid conditions with persistent mold.

Generally harmless to people, pets, clothing, and buildings, and it does not sting or bite. Its presence can indicate excess moisture or mold, while its feeding contributes to decomposition.
