Honeydew from aphids, sweets, and occasionally protein like small insects.

Forms multiple colonies (polygynous); moves rapidly and erratically when disturbed; exhibits a characteristic 'ghost' appearance due to pale abdomen and legs.

Primarily a nuisance pest; can contaminate food but does not sting or cause structural damage.
