Boxelder Bug

Found near boxelder, maple, and ash trees, often invading homes in autumn to overwinter.

Saps fluids from leaves, flowers, and developing seeds of host trees using piercing-sucking mouthparts.

Gathers in large, conspicuous aggregations on sunny vertical surfaces during cooler weather.

Harmless to humans and pets, does not bite or transmit disease, but can stain surfaces with excrement if crushed.
