Adults feed on plant nectar; larvae feed on paralyzed spiders provided by the adult female inside the mud tubes.

Solitary insects. The female builds a mud nest, captures and paralyzes spiders to stock the cells, lays a single egg per cell, and then seals it. They do not live in colonies.

Benefits the ecosystem by controlling spider populations. While they can sting, they are very non-aggressive and rarely sting humans unless extremely provoked.
