Bed Bug

Dwellings, specifically in cracks, crevices, bed frames, and mattresses near human sleeping areas.

Obligate hematophages; they feed exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.

Nocturnal and elusive; they hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult).

Risks include itchy welts, allergic reactions, and psychological distress. While not known to transmit diseases, they are significant household pests. There are no ecological benefits to humans.
