Hobo Spider

Found outdoors in fields, under rocks, and in dark crevices, as well as indoors in basements, crawl spaces, and undisturbed corners.

Carnivorous; feeds primarily on small insects and other arthropods caught in its funnel-shaped web.

Builds distinctive funnel-shaped webs near ground level and waits near the entrance to ambush prey. They are relatively poor climbers.

Benefits include natural pest control by reducing insect populations. However, their bites can cause localized pain and necrosis, though severe reactions are uncommon.
