Household Casebearer

Found indoors in homes, especially in dark, undisturbed areas like closets, under furniture, along baseboards, and on walls or ceilings.

The larvae feed on various organic materials including spider webs, insect remains, wool, silk, hair, feathers, and occasionally dust or lint.

The larva constructs a flattened, silk case resembling a tiny seed or grain, which it carries around as it moves. It drags the case along surfaces and extends its head and front legs out to crawl and feed. Eventually, it pupates inside the case.

Risks include potential damage to natural fibers like wool and silk clothing, carpets, or rugs if an infestation becomes large. They do not bite or transmit diseases to humans.
