Small dark beetle (likely a carpet beetle)

Indoors near windows, walls, carpets, stored fabrics, and animal materials; larvae inhabit dark, undisturbed areas.

Adults mainly consume pollen and nectar. Larvae feed on keratin-containing materials such as wool, fur, feathers, hair, and dead insects.

Adults are small, oval, and often attracted to light; larvae remain hidden and may shed bristly skins. Infestations develop slowly in stored textiles and accumulations of lint or debris.

Larvae can damage natural-fiber clothing, carpets, upholstery, and museum specimens; their hairs may irritate sensitive skin. Adults are harmless and contribute to decomposition and pollination.
