Found in gardens, parks, woodlands, and grasslands, often hiding under logs, stones, or leaf litter during the day.

Predatory; they feed on slugs, snails, worms, and other small invertebrates.

Mainly nocturnal hunters that run quickly to catch prey. They do not fly and are active from spring through autumn.
