Ant spider

Found in a variety of habitats, often on the ground, under rocks, or leaf litter. Some species are found in association with ant nests.

Primarily ant predators. They stalk and capture ants.

Zodariidae spiders are known for their ant-mimicry in some species, both in appearance and behavior, to get close to their prey. They are active hunters, typically nocturnal. Some species build silk retreats or burrows.

Generally harmless to humans. They play a beneficial role in ecosystems by preying on ants, which can help control ant populations.
