Bed Bug

Human dwellings, specifically cracks and crevices near sleeping areas such as mattresses, bed frames, and furniture.

Obligate hematophagous (blood-feeding), primarily on humans but also on other warm-blooded animals.

Nocturnal parasites that hide during the day and emerge at night to feed. They undergo incomplete metamorphosis (egg, nymph, adult) and require a blood meal to progress through each life stage.

They do not transmit diseases but cause itchy welts, allergic reactions, and significant psychological distress. They have no known ecosystem benefits in human environments and are considered major domestic pests.
