Bed bug

Found indoors, primarily in crevices of mattresses, box springs, headboards, and furniture frames.

Obligate hematophagous ectoparasites feeding exclusively on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded hosts.

Nocturnal and highly secretive, emerging primarily at night to pierce skin and feed before retreating to dark hiding spots.

Bites cause itchy, irritated skin welts and psychological distress, but they are not known to transmit infectious diseases.
