Found in damp, humid environments, especially among books, papers, wallpaper, and stored grain

Feeds on microscopic mold, fungi, starches, and organic glues used in book bindings

Mainly nocturnal and highly active in high humidity; they do not fly but can crawl quickly; population growth is tied to moisture levels

Harmless to humans as they do not bite or spread disease; however, they can be a nuisance and signal a potential mold or humidity issue in the home
