The larvae feed on spider webs, wool, hair, and natural fibers.
Behavior Patterns
The larva constructs a protective silk case covered with sand, soil, and lint. It can turn around inside the case to eat or move from either end.
Risks & Benefits
Harmless to humans but can occasionally damage clothing or fabrics made of silk or wool; primarily a household nuisance.
