Case-bearing clothes moth larva (likely)

Indoors, especially closets, carpets, upholstery, wall cracks, and other dark, undisturbed areas containing animal fibers.

Larvae feed on keratin-rich materials such as wool, fur, feathers, hair, and occasionally silk. Adults generally do not feed.

Larvae live inside portable silken cases made from fibers and debris, emerging to feed and retreating when disturbed. They prefer darkness and low disturbance; adults are weak fliers.

They can damage clothing, carpets, and other natural-fiber textiles but do not bite or sting people. They contribute modestly to decomposition of animal-derived materials.
