Moth fly (also known as Drain fly)

Found in moist areas with organic matter, such as drains, sewage treatment plants, and bathrooms.

Larvae feed on the gelatinous film of organic matter and bacteria found in drains; adults feed on liquid carbohydrates and water.

They are weak fliers and often crawl on surfaces; they are most active at night and tend to rest on walls during the day.

They are generally harmless and do not bite or transmit diseases, but large infestations can be an indicator of plumbing issues or sanitation needs.
