Diet & Feeding

Omnivorous, but prefers sugary liquids like honeydew and sweets; also eats insects and proteins.

Behavior Patterns

Highly mobile, irregular movement patterns, and forms multiple sub-colonies (polygynous) which makes them difficult to eradicate.

Risks & Benefits

Nuisance household pest that can contaminate food; they do not sting and their bite is usually unnoticed by humans.
