Cellar Spider

Found worldwide in dark, damp places such as cellars, basements, crawl spaces, garages, and corners of rooms.

Carnivorous; feeds on other spiders, insects, and small arthropods.

Known for vibrating rapidly when disturbed to blur their outline and deter predators. They construct irregular, tangled webs.

Harmless to humans as their venom is not medically significant and their fangs are rarely able to puncture human skin. They are beneficial because they help control populations of pests, including other more dangerous spiders like black widows.
