Bed bug

Found in human habitations, specifically hidden in mattresses, bed frames, cracks in furniture, and baseboards.

Blood-feeding parasite, consuming blood from humans and other warm-blooded animals.

Noxturnal and secretive, hiding in dark crevices during the day and emerging at night to feed. They go through incomplete metamorphosis.

Bites cause itchy red welts and potential secondary skin infections from scratching; severe infestations can cause psychological distress and sleep deprivation. They provide no known benefit to humans.
