Larvae are typically found on the undersides of leaves where they feed gregariously during early instars, then spread out as they mature. They undergo complete metamorphosis with multiple generations per year.

Major agricultural pest that can completely defoliate and destroy potato crops if left uncontrolled. They pose no direct risk to humans but present a massive threat to food production.
