Behavior Patterns
Highly social insects that form large colonies. Known for 'sidewalk wars' where neighboring colonies engage in large-scale battles for territory. They are mostly active at night but will forage during the day.
Risks & Benefits
Generally considered a nuisance pest when they enter homes. They do not pose significant health risks, though they can contaminate food. In the ecosystem, they help aerate soil and decompose organic matter.
