Found indoors, primarily in crevices of mattresses, box springs, headboards, and furniture frames close to human sleeping areas.

Hematophagous (feeds exclusively on the blood of humans and other warm-blooded animals)

Noxious nocturnal parasites that hide during daylight hours in tight cracks and crevices, emerging at night to feed and returning to their harborage after feeding.

Risks include painful, itchy bites, secondary skin infections from scratching, and psychological distress or anxiety. They offer no notable ecological benefits to humans.
