Behavior Patterns

Often nocturnal feeders. Many species exhibit 'thanatosis' (playing dead) when disturbed. They undergo complete metamorphosis from larvae to adults.

Risks & Benefits

Harmless to humans as they do not bite or sting. Some are major agricultural or pantry pests, while others are used as biological control agents for invasive weeds.
