Natural Habitat
Primarily human dwellings, especially bedrooms, living in cracks and crevices of mattresses, bed frames, furniture, and walls.
Diet & Feeding
Exclusively feed on the blood of warm-blooded animals, primarily humans.
Behavior Patterns
Nocturnal, hiding during the day and emerging at night to feed. They are attracted to warmth and carbon dioxide. They do not fly or jump; they crawl.
Risks & Benefits
Potential risks include itchy bites, potential allergic reactions, secondary skin infections from scratching, and significant psychological distress (anxiety, insomnia). There are no known benefits to humans or ecosystems.
