Mealybug

Warm indoor environments, greenhouses, and outdoor subtropical climates on houseplants and garden vegetation.

Plant sap, feeding by piercing plant tissues with mouthparts.

Secretes a powdery white wax covering for protection. Females are wingless and immobile, while males are tiny, winged adults.

Risks include damaging and stunting plant growth, transmitting plant viruses, and producing honeydew that fosters sooty mold. They have no significant benefits to humans and are generally considered agricultural and horticultural pests.
